This type of Giclée printing achieves a deep matt black using a special ink, which is as delicate as it is beautiful, so please handle the surface of the print with great care (white gloves recommeneded) to avoid scratching it. Otherwise, the image has great lightfastness qualities, will not fade and can be exposed to the sun.

This image is an authentic Giclee print, identical to the ones in the Limited Edition run except for the fact that, being originally created for the Artist's use as a print test for a 2:1 reproduction of the original work, it is cropped too close to the image (in other words, it doesn't have a wide enough white margin for the number and signature) anshows a thin black line on the right margin, which can be easily hidden by displaying teh print with a mount. It is signed and numbered at the back and it comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. It is one of two Artist proofs created to make sure this image, originally 15cm in size, could be reproduced in a larger size (30x30cm) and it has teh same beautiful vibrant colours of the original.

An artist's proof is an impression of a print taken in the printmaking process to see the accuracy of the print - in other words, proofs are prints that are still being worked on by the artist. A proof may show a clearly incomplete image, often called a working proof or trial impression, but in this instance it is  used to describe an impression of the finished work that is  virtually identical to the numbered copies.[1] There can also be printer's proofs which are taken for the printer to see how the image is printing, or are final impressions the printer is allowed to keep; but normally the term "artist's proof" would cover both cases.

Artist's proofs are not included in the count of a limited edition, and sometimes the number of artist's proofs, which belong to the artist, can be twenty or more. By convention, the artist is not supposed to sell all of these at once, and therefore Artist proofs are rare and sought after as they are considered 'closer' to the Artist.
