Word on a Wing
Portrait of David Bowie in a white shirt and waistcoat, his orange hair swept back: he is on stage with a microphone performing a song from his masterpiece album 'Station to Station' during the Isolar I Tour 1976. The lights are soft and he has a gentel expression: he 'acts' out the songs. This large scale portrait is painted in gouache and soft pastels on board and was exhibited at Rathfarnham Castle in Ireland during the Dublin Bowie Festival as well as at the Ripley Arts Centre, Bromley in 2019. It is now in aprivate collection.
